\nRace starts 8:30 a.m. sharp
\nFamily Walk Begins 10:30 a.m.
Flat Rock Brook will hold its 8th Annual 5K trail run on Sunday\, August 4th. \; The "\;Run in the Wild"\; starts at our Nature Center. \; After a short street run\, the course enters the shaded trails of our 150-acre preserve. \; It'\;s a unique opportunity to run through a suburban forest.
\n\nNew this year is a 1-mile Family Walk on a trail that passes a cascading brook\, wetland and scenic overlook. \; We will provide snacks\, water and a souvenir animal plush for our young participants. \; Following the walk is a birds of prey program at 11:30 a.m. led by one of our staff Naturalists at our Raptor Aviary. \; Kids will have the chance to see owls\, hawks and a falcon up close and learn about these important birds. \;
\n\nRace registration: Adults $28 per runner in advance\; $30 race day\; Youth (ages 12-17) \; $23 per runner in advance\; $25 race day
\n\nFamily Walk registration: \; $25 includes 2 adults and 2 children (under age 5 free)\; \;$10 additional/single adult\; $5 additional/single child
\n\nNOTE: \; Family Walk parking will be available in our Nature Center parking lot from 10:00 a.m. onward. \; The area will be closed for the race until that time.

\n\nThe 5K run is sanctioned by the USA Track and Field Association. Proceeds from the run will support the Flat Rock Brook Nature Center and registration is tax deductible and non-refundable.
